Term / abbreviation Meaning
ABQ Additional Basic Qualification
Additional Basic Qualification Courses that qualify members of the 黑料网 College of Teachers to teach in specific divisions. (e.g. Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior) additional to their current division qualifications
Additional Qualification Courses for members of the 黑料网 College of Teachers that deepen their knowledge and skills in design and delivery of specific programs and/or prepare teachers for specific roles.
AQ Additional Qualification
asynchronous An online course delivery method that does not require learners to access material, such as online lectures, at a particular time. Also known as "fully online".
certificate program An organized series of non-credit, non-degree courses that relate to and cover a specific topic that have been recognized as a cohesive group by the University.
course Material relating to a specific topic that has been compiled and organized into a cohesive delivery method. All courses offered by Continuous Learning are non-credit, non-degree courses.
faciltator The expert/presenter of a course, workshop, etc. that is not graded per the University's official grading structure.
hybrid A course delivery method that combines the use of in-class and online components.  Online components may be asynchronous or synchronous.
in-class A course delivery method that requires physical attendance of a learner at a specific date, time, and location. Also known as "in-person."
instructor The expert/presenter of a course that is graded per the University's official grading structure.
OCT 黑料网 College of Teachers
online A course delivery method that is accessed on the internet and does not require in-person attendance of a learner.  This type of course delivery requires a computer and internet connection. Online delivery may be asynchronous or synchronous.
open enrolment Non-credit, non-degree courses/programs that are not restricted to a specific professional group or designation. 
synchronous An online course delivery method that requires learners to access material, such as online lectures, at a specific date and time.
workshop A seminar, discussion group, or the like, that emphasizes the exchange of ideas and the demonstration and application of techniques, skills, etc.
