Meta Fix contains Starch Fix. Starch Fix is a white microencapsulated blend of sodium bicarbonate, cobalt, and Vitamin B12 with slow release technology to support normal metabolism, promote hind gut health, and may help reduce inflammation associated with starch consumption. Starch Fix is ideal for obese, insulin resistant, equine metabolic syndrome and Cushing’s horses, and all horses during changes in starch content in pasture during the Spring and Fall. Safe to be used in combination with medication for metabolic disorders.

Starch Fix provides nutrients to the microflora to increase the conversion of lactate (a strong acid produced by the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract when starch and sugar are consumed by the horse) into propionate (a weaker acid), and to buffer the hindgut. Because of the healthier environment created by Starch Fix, fewer toxins are produced from the microbes in the gastrointestinal tract. As a result, a leaky gut is not created which helps promote a normal inflammatory and metabolic response.
Meta Fix may aid in weight loss in obese horses if used according to usage guidelines on an ongoing basis.
