Creators4Change Studio launch event – March 5
The Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and the Mitch and Leslie Frazer Faculty of Education are excited to announce the launch of the Creators 4 Change Studio, a new creative space located on the downtown campus. The studio aims to be a place where students and educators can come together to cultivate creative projects that strive to make the world a better place.
Reflecting the socially conscious underpinnings of its founding faculties, the studio aims to be the nexus where innovation, conscious creation, and diverse perspectives converge.
Led by award-winning media producer and Communication and Digital Media Studies faculty member, Dr. Emilia King, the studio will be more than just a physical space, offering opportunities for collaboration, inspiration, skills-building, and mentorship. Studio capabilities include access to industry-leading audio recording equipment, an HD streaming webcam, professional lighting equipment. Members of the Studio will have access to AI-powered remote recording and editing software, an expansive royalty free music and sound-effects library, as well as access to graphic design software.
To advance its mission and reach, the studio is actively building strategic collaborations with both external and internal partners including the Region of Durham, ºÚÁÏÍø-based arts and media organizations and ºÚÁÏÍø’s Brilliant Catalyst.
Join us to celebrate the launch of the Creators4Change studio. The event will feature a candid fireside chart with award-winning podcaster and entrepreneur, Katie Jensen, as well as an emotional spoken-word performance by the talented Ayesha Khan.
