Enhancing online navigation at ºÚÁÏÍø through a new interactive mapping platform
ºÚÁÏÍø’s Communications and Marketing department is pleased to announce the launch of a new interactive campus mapping platform.
The new map provides an enhanced and seamless navigation experience, ensuring that anybody can easily find their way around our campus environment, both indoors and outdoors. Whether you're a student, faculty, staff or visitor, our new map will empower you to navigate with confidence.
Key benefits and features:
- Comprehensive campus coverage: The platform covers the entire ºÚÁÏÍø campus, both north and downtown locations, including buildings, research facilities, administrative offices, libraries, food services and more.
- Indoor navigation: Seamlessly navigate through multi-storey buildings - find classrooms, labs, offices, meeting rooms, study spaces and other key destinations with detailed indoor maps and turn-by-turn directions.
- Outdoor navigation: Extend your navigation experience beyond buildings to outdoor spaces, including parking lots, sports fields, common areas, and nearby amenities with full Google Map integration.
- Points of interest: Discover and locate various points of interest on campus, such as dining options, restrooms, sustainability features and more.
- Multi-platform availability: Available now on ontariotechu.ca/map; coming soon to ºÚÁÏÍø Mobile.
- Also coming soon: Integrated 360-degree campus experience using updated Google Street View footage (entire campus being captured in new 360 footage throughout the summer).
You can also share a direct link to a location on the map, such as a specific room or parking lot. This can be helpful for providing directions to users for an event or meeting location on campus.
How to share a link:
- In the sidebar menu, open the Search tab.
- Enter the room number or location name in the search field. A list of search results will appear underneath the search field.
- Select the Copy link button to copy the URL for the location.
- Insert the link in your web page or email.
The new campus map will be in beta testing through the summer months. You can provide your feedback via a form that can be found on the map page. Do you feel a space should have a description that isn't included right now? Maybe a description isn't entirely accurate, or something isn't searchable? Don't hesitate to fill out the form and let us know.
