Second round of funding available for eCampusºÚÁÏÍø’s Virtual Learning Strategy

On November 4, eCampusºÚÁÏÍø released a call for expressions of interest (EOIs) in support of the Government of ºÚÁÏÍø’s Virtual Learning Strategy (VLS). Up to $7 million is available through this second round of funding, which builds on an initial investment of $50 million in virtual learning announced in January 2021. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals or groups of faculty and staff members to apply for funding to create high-quality virtual learning content through the continued development, adaptation, adoption and translation of educational materials and micro-credentials.

Note: Collaboration within the university and across institutions, including both college and university partners, is strongly encouraged. In many instances, it is also an important part of the evaluation criteria. 

Submission steps for internal and external deadlines:

  • By Friday, December 3, please send an email that includes the funding category you wish to apply for, a one- or two-sentence description of your project, and a preliminary budget outline, to virtuallearningstrategy@ontariotechu.ca. The Office of the Provost will review submissions, provide preliminary feedback, and encourage discussions between those with like interests to create collaborative submissions where appropriate.
  • To ensure sufficient time for final review and signoff, submit your completed EOIs to the Office of the Provost no later than Friday, January 7. eCampusºÚÁÏÍø has stipulated that a failure to secure this institutional signoff before submission will invalidate your application.
  • Submit your signed EOI to eCampusºÚÁÏÍø no later than noon on Friday, January 14.
