The ceremony
The virtual platform will include a lobby where participants can navigate to multiple activities. This includes a stage for each faculty ceremony, a photo booth and the planned reception activities.
The receptions
All participants can choose to attend the Faculty Celebration Rooms, trivia and/or musical entertainment following the completion of their ceremony.
- Trivia: Three 20-minute trivia games with a chance to win a prize.
- Entertainment: Live dueling pianists. Song requests can be submitted through the chat.
- Faculty Celebration Rooms: Faculties will lead their own rooms and the activities within them. A Faculty Host(s) has been designated to keep the engagement going throughout the hour. The host(s) may show presentations, highlight medal winners, run slideshows, trivia or polls, or have program-specific breakout rooms where individuals can connect and chat separately.
You can participate by:
- Dressing in your Academic Regalia if you wish.
- Taking photos and posting them into the photo booth area.
- Selecting a ceremony to watch from the main lobby and posting congrats messages in the chat throughout the ceremony. You can enter and leave ceremonies as you wish, all navigating from the main event platform.
- Joining Faculty Celebration Rooms: Enter and exit any of the seven rooms as you wish.
- Participating via the chat functions in each of the faculty receptions.
- You are welcome to say a quick hello verbally and engage in conversation with the hosts of the Faculty Celebration Rooms. The hosts are aware that you may pop in and out during the hour.
- If a faculty has chosen to host breakout rooms during their receptions, you can join an open room to have a brief one-on-one video chat with graduates, if requested via the chat. You are also welcome to send a general message in the chat inviting graduates to join you in a room number, to say hello.
- Share messages on your social media using #ºÚÁÏÍøTechGrad.
