Film Industry Career Fair for students – October 29
Durham Region Economic Development Canada (DREDC) invites ºÚÁÏÍø faculty, staff and students to its at the university’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre Tuesday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This career fair is an excellent opportunity for students to:
- Learn about the Canadian film industry.
- Find out what skill sets and qualities employers look for in job candidates.
- Discover the wide range of career opportunities and options available in the film industry.
The event will feature a panel discussion of industry leaders, including speakers representing:
- National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET)
- Alliance of Canadian Cinema
- Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA)
- International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE)
- Director’s Guild of Canada (DGC)
- Strategem Group
Following a panel discussion, the event will transition into a trade show format where students can visit booths and speak one-on-one with industry professionals. Other attractions include:
- Visual effects demonstrations
- Special effects movie makeup artist booth
- Tour of Durham College’s MAD Mixed-Reality Capture Studio.
